Marketing Portfolio

I’ve had the privilege of working on some really exciting projects in my career. Here are some highlights of stuff I’ve done which are marketing and management related.

Gnomon School of Visual Effects – Marketing Consultant, 2010 – 2011

I have a dual consultant role at Gnomon, working as a marketing strategist as well as technology consultant. On the marketing front, I directed the re-organization of marketing and installation of processes into the company. I also brought on a kick-ass PR team from Bender Helper who now manage Gnomon’s outbound communications. Gnomon has since been featured in many of the world’s top media including Fast Company and USA Today.

Autodesk – Product Marketing & Games Industry Marketing, 2009

I joined Autodesk in 2008 as a result of its acquisition of Softimage. There, I worked as Product Marketing Manager and also managed Games Industry Marketing for the Autodesk Games group.  I was responsible for Product Marketing for middleware, and Games Industry Marketing for all products relevant to the games industry — which included Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, Mudbox and MotionBuilder.

Some work that I delivered in the year that I worked at Autodesk:

Games Industry Website Revamp
I was responsible for repositioning and communicating the Autodesk Games industry group, which now had middleware as a core focus in addition to DCC products. One of the deliverables was updating the Autodesk Games website. I worked with Annie Belanger, Marketing Communications Manager, to update the Autodesk Games website with the new positioning and relevant information for each product.

Softimage Eye-Candy Demo Reel 2008
I was a part of the amazing marketing team at Softimage in 2007-2008 who were responsible for the global launch of XSI 7, arguably the 3D industry’s largest software release in a decade. This was the final Softimage customer demo reel ever produced, highlighting the outstanding work from Softimage customers worldwide. Ballistic Media, 2003 – 2007

I founded CGNetworks in 2001. In 2003, I took on a business partner and we founded Ballistic Media, which included Ballistic Publishing and CGSociety. We grew the business from 2 employees to 14 employees, over $1.5 million in revenue, 17 book titles and numerous awards from the local Australian press. I sold my share of the company in 2006.

3D Festival

I was the conference chair for 3D Festival. Check out the showguide to see all that I did to organize this festival. In addition to chairing and running the festival, I also produced the website and the content for the showguide, and did the selling for the sponsorships. Basically, I was in charge of the festival in 2004.
