Dancing in the Dark - Photoshoot with Olya & Dima

I did a recent photoshoot with the Ottawa Photography Meetup group with husband and wife team Olya and Dima.

This turned out great. Some of the best shots I had ever taken. Olya and Dima were a real pleasure to work with.

I did this shoot exclusively on my Leica SL2-S + APO-Summicron-SL 50mm f2 ASPH. Because of the nature of the prime lens, I had to use my feet in composing the image by moving forwards and backwards a lot. The issue here being that there were cases when the models changed position, and I found I had not left enough room for them in the image or clipped them. When I hung back and shot from a distance, the 24mp of the SL2-S was a little bit limiting in cropping in, but the APO Summicron sharpness was forgiving in this respect.

The studio lighting was with Godox strobes. Some of my favourite shots were with only a single light, as one light fuse blew during the shoot!

Overall I learned a lot in this shoot and we all had a great time.
