House of Becoming

A visual journey through transformation. Across three acts, Serenity, Bloom, and Ascension, a woman moves from stillness and self-discovery toward confidence, growth, and self-actualization.

House of Becoming is a personal, fine art project. While I continue on honing in my craft as a fashion photographer, I wanted to weave in narrative. For me, this story is personal, but I am also glad that art as a medium can affect people in different ways. It was extremely satisfying to hear from collaborators and viewers about how they related to the story.

Act 1: Serenity

Serenity begins in stillness. The white wardrobe against the white background reflects the quiet pressure to conform and blend into the expectations placed upon us. Beneath the calm surface, something begins to change. We witness the first signs of confidence emerging, marking the beginning of her journey toward transformation.

Act 2: Bloom

Bloom is an explosion of colour. She comes into her own. She embraces possibility with growing confidence, discovering beauty, strength, and joy within herself. It is a celebration of transformation, where hope begins to flourish and the future opens before her.

Act 3: Ascension

Ascension is about transcendence. There is a quiet confidence about her. She is radiant because she has embraced who she was always capable of becoming. The struggle has given way to grace. What began as a journey of self-discovery ends in self-possession, strength, and the freedom to step fully into her own light.
