Runway for Hope 2026

I was a photographer for the Runway for Hope charity fashion show in Ottawa. This event raises money and awareness for CHEO, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. It was a fabulous evening, meeting new friends and photographing some amazing designs and talent. Here is just a small selection of images I captured at the show.

Notes for Photo Nerds

Kit: L-mount
Lumix S1RII + Sigma 70-200 f2.8 main camera for runway shots
Leica SL3 + Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f2.8 for wide and close shots

No flash allowed at the show, we were at the mercy of whatever lighting was there. Light conditions kept changing as the venue had large windows all around and the sun was setting. Exposure was challenging as the runway was backlit with the sun setting. As a result, auto ISO did not work and when the model walked down the runway, the exposure difference between the back and front of the runway was over one stop difference.
